WHAT IS Kaleidoscope ?
Kaleidoscope project aims to increase cultural interaction and highlight the evolution of digital art by bringing digitalisation and art together. This project aims to transform art, which has been used by humanity throughout history to express emotions and thoughts, in accordance with the requirements of the digital age. The project will involve a total of 21 participants between the ages of 18-25, selected from three different countries. Participants will be divided into groups by considering age and regional diversity, thus it is aimed to prevent possible peer bullying by ensuring cultural diversity.
Phase 1: Online Lectures on Digital Art
The first phase of the Kaleidoscope project consists of several online training modules aimed at teaching the basics of digital art. These modules will help participants to develop their digital skills and prepare for the project. Below are the details of these training modules:
Photography & Photoshop
Photoshop training aims to teach you how to use Adobe Photoshop, one of the indispensable tools of digital art. Participants will learn basic image editing techniques and the various features that Photoshop offers, such as the use of layers, filters and effects. This course will help participants develop the ability to create professional quality images that they can use in their digital art projects.
Video Capturing & Editing
This video editing course aims to teach participants how to use popular video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. Participants will learn basic video editing techniques such as cutting video, adding transitions, colour correction and audio editing. They will also have the opportunity to practice creating impressive videos for short films and digital projects.
NFT Creating
NFT (Non-Fungible Token) creation training aims to teach how to tokenise digital artworks using blockchain technology. Participants will learn the concept of NFT, the basic principles of blockchain technology and how to convert digital artworks into NFT. They will also learn how to sell their works on NFT marketplaces and how to build a career in digital art.
Web Design
In this module, participants will learn the basic principles of modern website design. They will learn about basic web technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript and gain the ability to create user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing websites. They will also learn about user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design issues that should be considered in website design.
Phase 2: Türkiye's Natural Wonders
The second phase of the Kaleidoscope project consists of mobility activities in Turkey. This phase is a process where participants will have the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice and interact with Turkey's rich cultural heritage. Here are the details of the Turkey phase:
- History and Culture Trips: Participants will visit various museums, historical sites and art galleries in Turkey. These excursions will enable participants to get to know Turkey's cultural and artistic heritage more closely.
- Visits to Digital Exhibitions and Artist Studios: Participants will visit digital exhibitions and artist studios where they will be able to examine examples of digital art in Turkey. These visits will offer the opportunity to learn different techniques and practices of digital art.
- Production of Artistic Works: Participants will be asked to produce artistic products (short films, photographs, digital artefacts) reflecting their experiences and observations in Turkey. These products will be an opportunity for participants to put what they have learnt into practice and showcase their creativity.
- Cultural Interaction and Diversity: Turkey phase will enable participants to increase their cultural awareness and gain an international perspective by interacting with different cultures.
Phase 3: Italy's Digital Art Adventure
The third phase of the Kaleidoscope project consists of mobility activities in Rome, Italy. This phase aims to further deepen the participants' knowledge and skills in digital art and cultural interaction. Here are the details of the Italy phase in Rome:
- History and Culture Excursions: Participants will visit Rome's famous museums, historical sites and art galleries. These excursions will allow them to discover Rome's rich cultural and artistic heritage.
- Visits to Digital Exhibitions and Artist Studios: Participants will visit digital exhibitions and artists' studios where they will be able to explore the practice of digital art in Rome. These visits will provide the opportunity to learn about different approaches and techniques of digital art.
- Production of Artistic Products: In the Roma phase, participants will create artistic products such as NFTs, digital museums and short film festivals that aim to increase cultural interaction and digital transformation. These products will provide a platform for participants to showcase their creativity and talent in the field of digital art.
- Cultural Interaction and Diversity: The Rome phase will enable participants to increase their cultural awareness and gain an international perspective by interacting with different cultures. Participants will bring different perspectives to the project by getting acquainted with the artistic and cultural richness of Rome.
